The Ranking of Active Sires (RAS) is a ranking by Breeding Worth of sires nominated by AB Companies. An active sire is one which is likely to have at least 500 doses of semen available in the following mating season.
New Zealand Animal Evaluation Limited establishes the criteria for eligibility for this List. These criteria include:
- enrolled in the Animal Evaluation scheme
- minimum Reliability for PA_PT-Index of 75%
- eligibility for inclusion in Interbull's International Genetic Evaluation Service
The RAS information is from the animal evaluation run on 21 August 2010 (the next run is on 18 September 2010).
