DairyNZ is an incorporated society with all New Zealand dairy farmers and sharemilkers as its members The purpose of the society is to levy its members, and to co-ordinate and fund dairy industry activities that are

• Financially beneficial to New Zealand dairy farmers; and
• Would not be undertaken by individuals or groups of dairy farmers because either:
• It is too expensive for them to do it on their own or those making the investment could not capture the benefits.
